I’m Miguel Young de la Sota, also known as mcyoung (or sometimes mcy).

I poke computers for a living. This usually involves working with the very low-level details of compilers, linkers, operating systems, runtimes, allocators, etc. When I’m not writing something in Rust that really shouldn’t be, I’m usually writing C++ I really shouldn’t be. I also have a background in security and cryptography (but am not a cryptographer).

In a past life I was a mathematician. I’m told this makes all of my writing read like math papers.
